Use your Green Credentials to Help you Earn a College Degree

New Jersey’s sustainable and renewable energy industries are demanding new “green” skills and knowledge from their workforce, many of which come in the form of nationally credentialed training. If you’ve earned one or more of the qualifying green credentials listed below, NJ PLACE wants to help you get credit for your hard work – college credit! Green credentials can give you a head start on a variety of college degrees whether you’ve earned just one or accrued several. Add an apprenticeship certification eligible for college credit through NJ PLACE and you can be even closer to earning a bachelor degree in Construction or Technical Studies.

Some certifications are worth up to 6 credits

Your credentials can help you earn:

*Not applicable to IGSHPA Geothermal or Mechanical Insulation credentials.

Credits from all green credentials may apply as electives toward the BSAST in Construction at Thomas Edison State College. Credits from green credentials may also apply toward other degree programs at Thomas Edison or another college as determined by each college.

College credit for each green credential was established by a team of subject matter experts who carefully reviewed associated content, learning outcomes, assessments, and the depth and breadth of learning, among many factors. These reviews, called “academic program reviews,” were conducted by Thomas Edison State College’s Office for the Assessment of Professional and Workplace Learning and approved by the college’s Curriculum Review Committee.
